In 1939 a forward-looking group of General Contractors recognized they could benefit by creating a forum for their common concerns and interests. They organized the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA), which today is Canada's leading provincial association of general contractors.
The Association includes hundreds of established general contracting companies comprising small, medium and large firms, both union and non union. Led by a 30-member board of directors, representative of the membership at large, the OGCA is supported by standing, joint and ad-hoc committees, and a full time staff of four.
The OGCA has experienced impressive growth while fostering increasingly high standards for the general contracting profession in Ontario. Today General Contractors are able to take advantage of the expertise and resources of the OGCA and its affiliation with the Council of Ontario Construction Associations and the Canadian Construction Association. |
